About
We started YASMA because too many families were being told to "just wait."
For more than 25 years we've sat with people in the worst weeks of their lives — parents who hadn't slept, partners who didn't know what to say anymore, individuals ready to try recovery for the third or fourth time. Our work is to make sure they're not alone in the room when it matters.

Our promise
We meet you where you are.
We don't believe in one-size-fits-all recovery. We don't believe families have to "hit bottom" to be helped. And we don't believe asking for support is a sign of weakness — it's almost always the bravest call someone makes all year.
Our role is to listen carefully, share what we've learned, and stand beside you while you do the work that only you can do.

Our team
The people who answer the call.
Every member of our team has personal or professional lived experience with addiction, recovery, or complex family systems. We do not judge because we have been there too.

Yasmin A.
Founder & Lead Advocate
Yasmin began this work more than 25 years ago after watching her own family struggle to find help. She has since walked alongside hundreds of individuals and families through detox placements, custody transitions, housing applications, and the countless small moments in between.

Marcus T.
Family & Recovery Advocate
Marcus joined YASMA after twelve years in peer support and outreach. He specializes in working with fathers, partners, and adult children who are supporting a loved one through addiction and recovery. He is known for his calm presence and his refusal to give easy answers.

Sara L.
Community Navigator
Sara connects people to the services they need — from housing and income support to counselling and aftercare. She grew up in Chilliwack and knows the local system inside and out. Her superpower is finding an open door when every other one feels closed.
